Winter Light over the City © Niki Gorick Photography Ltd., 2009 4pm on a dull January afternoon, and I was running out of time to capture panoramic views of London for a commission. Suddenly, the rays of the setting sun broke through the cloud to illuminate the whole length of the Thames by St Paul's, just as a police-boat roared down the river - a magical transformation.
