Coelophysis
Mary Evans Picture Library/Deagostini Editore
Coelophysis was a small, lightly-built dinosaur that walked on two long legs. It was a carnivore, and probably hunted in packs. It was about 2.8 metres long, with light, hollow bones, a long, pointed head with many small, serrated teeth, three clawed fingers on its hands, and a long neck. It was one of the earliest-known dinosaurs, living about 210 million years ago in a dry, desert-like environment.
