HOW DO I MEASURE MY WINDOW FOR A BLIND?
Our Help section contains information on 'Measuring your Window'. Here you will find full and clear instructions to help you to take accurate measurements of your window for your roller blind.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A RECESS AND AN EXACT FITTING?
A 'recess' measurement is the one you will need to take when you would like the roller blind to fit and hang INSIDE the window recess.
An 'exact' Measurement is the one you will need to take when you would like the roller blind to fit and hang OUTSIDE the window recess.
Please visit our Help section for further information and diagrams on all aspects of 'Measuring your Window'.
WILL THE BLINDS BE DELIVERED WITH ALL FITTINGS AND FITTING INSTRUCTIONS I NEED?
Yes. Our roller blinds are straightforward and easy to fit. Your roller blind will be made to measure to your exact specification, and supplied ready to fit, so there is no extra cutting or adjustment to be made.
All necessary fittings and full instructions on ‘How to Fit’, will be delivered with your blind. This includes screws which are suitable for fitting to a wooden or UPVC window frame.
WHAT MATERIALS ARE USED TO MAKE MY ROLLER BLIND, AND HOW EASY IS IT TO CLEAN?
Our regular material is high-quality, water- and dirt-repellent, flame-retardant, spun polyethylene, which can be sponged clean. It will allow some light to filter through.
Our blackout material is high-quality, water-resistant, flame-retardant and highly-opaque. It is manufactured as a black layer 'sandwiched' between outer layers to produce a total blackout material. It is semi-coated with PVC on both sides, which gives it its durable, water-resistant properties, and allows superb printing quality with great vibrant colours.
The material is attached to a high-quality roller mechanism with a plastic-coated steel core and metal ‘end’ elements. The plastic white chain cord mechanism may be fitted to either side. In addition, the chain cord on our blinds is fitted with an ‘Easy Break’ plastic connector, so that, if any excessive force is exerted on this chain cord, it will break. If this happens, it is possible to reinsert the chain cord into the connector.
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE: In the interests of safety, it is advisable to keep all chain cords out of the reach of babies, children and other vulnerable persons, and to secure the cord safely, e.g., with a cord and chain cleat.
HOW CAN I BE SURE HOW MY PHOTO OR CHOSEN IMAGE WILL LOOK ON MY ROLLER BLIND?
Before we proceed to production, we will send you, by email, a pdf proof of your chosen photo or image as it will appear on your roller blind.
However, it is helpful to bear in mind that some images will be more suited to portrait-shaped windows, and some to landscape-shaped windows.
Only when you are happy with the proof we have sent you, will we go ahead and make your roller blind.
HOW ACCURATE IS THE COLOUR REPRODUCTION OF IMAGES FROM OUR GALLERY?
We do our very best to ensure accurate colour reproduction of the finished product. However, it is not always possible to achieve an exact colour reproduction of the colours and shades of the images that you see on your computer monitor or printed proof, because scanners, computer monitors, laser printers and printer proofs define and display colours slightly differently.
CAN YOU CROP OR EDIT MY CHOSEN IMAGE TO FIT MY WINDOW?
Yes, in many cases this is possible. Whether you are supplying your own photograph or choosing an image from our Gallery, it is often possible for us to crop the image, or surround it with a white border, so that it suits your window shape. If you have any particular requests or concerns about the layout of the image on the roller blind, please email us at designstudio@creativelydifferentblinds.com, or telephone us on 0800 085 2055, and we will be happy to discuss this with you.
In all cases, we will, of course, send you a proof by email, so that you can be sure that you are happy with how your roller blind will look. Only once we have received your approval of the proof, will we proceed to production.
WHAT SIZE AND QUALITY OF PHOTO IS ACCEPTABLE FOR A PHOTO BLIND?
Your roller blind will be considerably larger than the average-sized photograph, so using a digital camera of at least 6 megapixels will help you to take a photograph with a high enough resolution to ensure a great result.
Please set your camera to the highest resolution possible (preferably a minimum of 300 dpi), and save your image in either jpeg or raw format. Ideally, we would like the photo to be around 20 megabytes in size, but can sometimes work with less. If the photograph you send us is not of a sufficiently high resolution to produce a high-quality printed roller blind we will advise you by email.
Copyright Notice: It is important to note that it is your responsibility to ensure that you own the copyright of the image, or have the permission of the copyright holder to use the photograph in this way. Please also note that we reserve the right to refuse to print a photographic image provided by a customer for reproduction onto a roller blind if, in our opinion, the image is inappropriate or offensive, or if, in our opinion, reproduction of an image risks copyright infringement of a third party.
HOW SHOULD I SEND MY PHOTO TO YOU?
Simply use our online browse option and ‘file upload’ facility to send your digital photograph to us.
CAN YOU RETOUCH MY PHOTO TO IMPROVE ITS QUALITY BEFORE PRINTING?
We are happy to undertake a small amount of retouching work (e.g., removal of ‘red eye’) at no extra cost. Should we consider that your photograph requires further work in order to achieve the best result possible, we will, of course, email or telephone you to discuss this, and to advise you if there is any extra cost for this work.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM NOT AT HOME WHEN THE BLIND IS DELIVERED?
We will advise you by email of the date when your roller blind will be despatched. Delivery to the address you have given us should be within 3 working days after the date of despatch from our depot. Please note that the goods will require a signature.
If you are not at home when your roller blind is delivered, our carrier will leave a card, advising another delivery date. It is your responsibility to contact the carrier to arrange an alternative delivery date, if this is inconvenient. If you are not available to take delivery of the roller blind on the second delivery date, the carrier will leave a card advising of the second attempt at delivery, and notifying you of the depot address, where you can collect your goods. Should you fail to contact the carrier or to collect your goods within 5 days, the goods will be returned to us. You will then be responsible for the charge for re-delivery.
CAN MY BLIND BE DELIVERED TO AN ALTERNATIVE ADDRESS?
Yes. When entering your address details you will be given an opportunity to advise whether you wish your goods to be delivered to your own address or to an alternative address.
Please see our Delivery section for further information.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE GOODS ARRIVE DAMAGED?
